Camlica hill is the highest point of Istanbul and a good vista point. You might have noticed TV towers at the top of the hill by looking out from Galata Tower or from boats when crossing the Bopshorus. Camlica hill is about 4 kilometers from Uskudar, there are buses that go Camlica but you should ask as there are two Camlica's you should go to Buyuk Camlica (Big Camlica). There is a Turing tea garden and restaurant which was constructed by the late Celik Guler who was interested in transforming neglected places into leisure areas. Another important Turing cafe/restaurant is in Fenerbahce. Camlica hill is only interesting for its spectacular views across of Istanbul across the Bosphorus. |
